It can sometimes be dangerous to look too closely at today's events with an eye on extracting lessons that will be applicable tomorrow. But it is just as likely to be powerful. After all, the fundamentals of human nature don't change that much from day-to-day.

Getting Everyone on the Same Page
Last week we entered the final stages of our home building project. With our Certificate of Occupancy in hand signifying that all of the critical inspections have been passed, we've moved into the final phase. A phase that might best be described as the nit-picking phase.

Everyone who crosses my path these days seems to be in a hurry. Whether they are running from meeting to meeting, making call after call from their desk, or traveling from town to town...frenetic is the only word that accurately describes their pace.

Traveling around the country speaking at conventions affords me the opportunity to hear about the very real day-to-day problems people are encountering in a variety of businesses and industries. Sometimes it amazes me just how similar the problems are from state to state, from business to business, and from industry to industry.
